To fulfill our mission of making the City of White Plains a better place to live, work and visit, we undertake a variety of projects. Dedicated to encouraging gardens, trees and green areas, we plant and maintain gardens, funded primarily through our Adopt-a-Park program. Our capital projects have included beautiful fountains and other structures within parks for quiet contemplation or alternately live entertainment, tree-lined thoroughfares, memorial trees, several stately street clocks and even the iconic green signs that identify major garden sponsors.  Our programs include fundraising efforts, educational activities, grants to schools and neighborhoods and recognition of businesses and homeowners who beautify their properties.

As we learn more about how native plants provide multiple benefits to people and wildlife, both economically and protecting our earth, our gardens will be evolving and our recommendations to residents about what to plant, where and how to maintain their gardens in an environmentally friendly way will be changing. We are planning to expand our site to include  educational information that we hope will be helpful to our community. So come back to our website often.
